FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry. Steering system rack reinforced body comprises steering rack, hydraulic and mechanical areas and inner thrust bearing. Thrust bearing is retained in rack body by the body two crosswise tapers. Body includes straight passage making two openings in rack body to accommodate and fit steering rack in place. Said body comprises one thrust to limit track travel. Said thrust comprises thrust part fitted in aforesaid passage and made of steel sheet. Method of fastening thrust ring in rack body comprises the stages whereat: a) thrust ring is arranged in its working position in rack body; b) crosswire thinning in rack body is made in thrust ring area so that said ring is retained in its working position; c) said crosswise tapers is produced by denting whereat thrust ring outer surface is pressed in.

EFFECT: simplified production.
