FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a hygienic tampon. What is presented is a hygienic tampon (1) comprising a hygroscopic fibre material based on natural and/or artificial fibres of any desired structure and shaped as at least an approximately cylindrical work (10) which is symmetrical about a longitudinal axis (100) specifying the direction to insert the tampon (1) into any desired body cavity. This tampon (1) comprises four pairs of grooves (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18) equidistant from each other along the circumference of the tampon (1). Two pairs of grooves (11, 13, 15, 17) having a pre-set width (B1) and depth (T1) is pressed in two planes which are perpendicular to each other and match with the longitudinal axis (100). Another two pairs of grooves (12, 14, 16, 18) having a pre-set width (B2) and depth (T2) is pressed in two planes which are perpendicular to each other and match with the longitudinal axis (100), being inclined at 45° with respect to the above planes.
EFFECT: purpose of the invention is to provide a tampon flexing and bulking strength of which shall be as high as possible, and shape of which after the tampon has been wetted shall be changed gradually and properly so that absorbability is at least equal to the known tampons or even higher, and that longitudinal liquid penetration is adequately slowed down to reduce a probability of liquid leakage from the above fully impregnated tampon.
