FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to uranium hexafluoride desublimation-sublimation for cleaning of light impurities and can be used at nuclear industry separators. Desublimator comprises cylindrical heat-isolated housing with wall heater to accommodate cylindrical desublimator with baffles secured thereat. Annular desublimation chamber consists of two sections, i.e. the main bottom section with horizontal annular baffles and additional catcher top section with baffles composed of multistart screw with OD smaller than that of horizontal annular baffles in the main section, and annular process gas distribution chamber surrounding said additional catcher section.
EFFECT: higher mean efficiency at decreased pressure at sublimation, smaller overall dimensions and efficient entrapment of uranium hexafluoride.
