FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of bulky ultra dispersed and nano materials by electric pulse compaction. It can be used for production of high-strength articles. Pre-cleaning of powder is executed by heating it in vacuum by series of low-voltage DC pulses with duration not exceeding 120 s. Separate pulse duration does not exceed 3-10-3 s while pulse amplitude equal to 1-10 kA/cm2. Compaction is performed by subjecting the powder to pressure of 50-500 MPa and passing HV current pulse with density of 50-500 kA/cm2 and duration of 10-500 mcs.
EFFECT: higher strength and elasticity at initial powder grain sizes.
