FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. The polymer composition is prepared in a heated reactor with a mixer in the medium of an inert gas - nitrogen. Secondary polyethylene terephthalate - ground polyethylene terephthalate wastes and a polyatomic alcohol - oligopropylene diol or oligopropylene triol, are first fed into a reactor and melted, and a catalyst - zinc acetate - is added. A modifier - novolac resin - is then fed into the reactor. The obtained mixture is heated to 240-260°C for 1-2 hours, cooled to 20-25°C, and then milled in a ball mill to particle size 100-1000 mcm. The components are taken in the following ratio, wt %: secondary polyethylene terephthalate 4-45; polyatomic alcohol 2-45; novolac resin 10-94.
EFFECT: invention enables to recycle polyethylene terephthalate wastes using polymer compositions which are used in producing press materials, powder coatings, foam plastic and moulded articles, as well as for modifying epoxy resins.
