SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to ultrasonic diagnosing and may be used in traumatology, surgery, neurosurgery and neurology. There are involved peripheral nerve ultrasonography and calculation of the cross-section area of the injured nerves. Median, ulnar and radial nerves are examined at the level of a medium one-third of the shoulder and forearm of the children aged 10 and older. The derived values are compared to the age normal values. If the cross-section area of the nerve is below the normal value, its dystrophy is predicted. The nerve inflammation is shown by the derived values above the normal value.

EFFECT: method enables providing more reliable prediction of the individual clinical outcome of the peripheral nerve injury of the upper extremities in children.
