FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: in compliance with this method, mineral stick is smelt in cupola. Said cupola has pit 11 to accommodate said stock. Bottom of said pit is equipped with fire grate 7 where under combustor 2 is arranged. Said combustor is heated by one or several burners 6. Note here that said burners 6 are fed with gas or fluid fuel and oxygen-bearing gas. In compliance with this invention, burners are operated so that flame length in fuel combustion with oxygen-bearing gas makes 60-100%, preferably 65-95% of combustor length. Projections of burner central axes and combustor diameter extending via burner central bore makes the angle of 3-20 degrees at horizontal plane.
EFFECT: uniform heating of cupola, decreased emission of nitrogen oxide.
