FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: at implementation of the proposed method, a probe filled with electrolyte is brought into contact with the tested object. The probe is provided with a cathode and a comparison electrode. A short-time anode polarising pulse is supplied between the tested object (anode) and the cathode. Potential is measured on the tested item with further identification of composition of the tested object as per measurement results.
EFFECT: improving test and identification reliability of composition of a specimen made from metal or metal alloy, including metal specimen containing a metal coating.
