FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry, particularly, to maintenance. Tolerable wear of part and rated total life are set. Rated total life is divided into periods between checks to set total life for end of every said period with measurement of wear part sizes and registration of current running time at the moment of measurement. Part current wear is defined and compared with tolerable wear at for moment of current wear determination. Decision on application of said part till the end of the next period between checks is made proceeding from results of comparison. To define part tolerable wear, total running hours at the end of the next period between checks are defined to plot wear curve provided that maximum wear is reached on reaching said maximum wear to use said curve for determination of tolerable wear for current total life.
