FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of preparing metal workpieces for cold forming by first applying a phosphate layer and then applying a lubricant layer containing organic polymer material. The phosphate layer is formed with an aqueous acidic phosphatising solution which contains 4-100 g/l of calcium, magnesium and/or manganese compounds, including ions thereof and which is zinc free or contains zinc in amount of less than 30 wt % of all cations, and 2-500 g/l of phosphate with respect to PO4, and the lubricant coating is formed when the phosphatised surface comes into contact with an aqueous composition of lubricant materials which contains an organic polymer material in amount of 3-99 wt % of all solid and active substances based on at least one ionomer, acrylic acid/methacrylic acid, epoxide, ethylene, polyamide, propylene, styrene, urethane, one or more esters thereof and/or one or more salts thereof, as well as a water-soluble, water-containing and/or water-binding oxide and/or silicate in amount of 0.1-85 wt % of all solid and active substances which are, respectively, at least one liquid glass, silica gel, silica sol, silica hydrosol, silicic acid ester and/or ethyl silicate. The composition is neutralised using at least one primary, secondary and/or tertiary amine, particularly at least one amino alcohol. At least one organic polymer material is at least partially saponified and/or at least partially represents an organic salt present in the composition and/or in the coating.
EFFECT: improved method.
