SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to cardiology and cardiovascular surgery. In patients with multifocal atherosclerosis hospitalised for carrying out carotid endarterectomy determined are: presence of dyslipidemia in anamnesis, level of IL-12, length of atherosclerotic plaque (ASP) in carotid arteries, determined intraoperationally and presence of hemorrhages in ASP. Each of examined factors is given value in points, and probable risk of development of unfavourable cardiovascular events is determined on the basis of point sum.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to predict risk of development of unfavourable cardiovascular events in patients with multifocal atherosclerosis within one year after carotid endarterectomy.
