FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to cardiology, and can be used for prediction of cardiovascular risk. Carotid and femoral atherosclerosis intensity is assessed by ultrasound, cardiovascular risk is assessed by SCORE scale. That is followed by ultrasonic examination of common carotid arteries and internal carotid arteries, determining the number of atherosclerotic plaques and maximum stenosis in the carotid system, after which the absolute risk of cardiovascular death in next 10 years is calculated using a carotid ultrasonic scale by formula and if the cardiovascular risk is less than 5%, ultrasound of common femoral arteries and 1.5 cm of the proximal superficial femoral arteries are performed, the number of atherosclerosis plaques and the maximum stenosis in the femoral pool are determined. Thereafter, the absolute risk of cardiovascular death in next 10 years is determined using a carotid-femoral scale. Thereafter, cardiovascular risk is predicted. And if the value is equal to 0%, a low cardiovascular risk is predicted; at values from 1 to 4% moderate cardiovascular risk is predicted; at values from 5 to 9% high cardiovascular risk is predicted; if the values are more than 10%, a very high cardiovascular risk is predicted.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase accuracy of prediction, start prevention and prevent cardiovascular diseases, as well as reduce mortality due to combination of assessment of ultrasonic manifestation of atherosclerosis and stenosis of carotid and femoral arteries and prediction of cardiovascular risks by carotid and femoral scales.
