SUBSTANCE: method is realised by handing over a connection point from a handover station of a first access network to a handover server of the first access network before the UE is handed over from the first access network to a second access network. The UE interacts with the handover server on the first access network through a tunnel so as to initiate an idle mode for the first access network after network accessing the second access network; and performs connection to a target station of the first access network to exit idle mode and re-access the first access network.

EFFECT: after switching from the first access network to the second access network, multimode user equipment in single radio frequency handover mode is quickly handed over back to the first access network.
