SUBSTANCE: organic electroluminescent display device (1) includes a first substrate (30), a second substrate (20) facing the first substrate (30), an organic electroluminescent element (4) formed on the first substrate (30) and provided between the first substrate (30) and the second substrate (20), a sealing element (5) provided between the first substrate (30) and the second substrate (20) and configured for attaching the first substrate (30) and the second substrate (20) for insulating the organic electroluminescent element (4), and a sealing resin (14) formed on the second substrate (20), placed between the first substrate (30) and the second substrate (20) and configured to cover the surface of the organic electroluminescent element (4). The sealing element (5) and sealing resin (14) are separated from each other in the X direction of the plane of the organic electroluminescent display device (1). Due to that the sealing element and the sealing resin are in contact with each other, the sealing element dissolves in the uncured sealing resin and physically mixes with the resin.
EFFECT: reliable sealing of the light radiation area and longer service life of the electroluminescent device.
