SUBSTANCE: present invention refers to an absorbent product, such as a wound pad comprising a body (1) of a compacted thermally plastic or thermally reactive open-cell foam material. According to the invention, the above body (1) has a configuration of ultrasound generated sockets (2, 3) in two opposite sides; the sockets in two opposite sides are coaxial to each other and separated from each other by a common lower portion (4) that is compacted more than the other portions of the above body. The invention also refers to a method for making the similar body and to a wound dressing containing the similar body.
