SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine. A wound dressing for application of local negative pressure to a wound area comprises: a fluid- and gas-permeable layer; an absorption layer for wound effluent absorption; a gas-permeable coating layer above the absorption layer and the fluid- and gas-permeable layer; and a barrier element forming a barrier in the central area of the dressing and configured to slow down the wound effluent flow to an opening when applying negative pressure in the central area of the opening. A method for applying local negative pressure to the wound area involves the stages of: applying negative pressure in the area of the opening; collecting the wound effluent from the wound area through the fluid- and gas-permeable layer of the wound dressing into the absorption layer of the wound dressing, and slowing down the wound effluent flow to the opening by means of at least one barrier element forming a barrier in the central area of the dressing.

EFFECT: using the presented group of inventions is expected to increase wound effluent absorption and ensure controlling wound effluent flow in the dressing in order to reduce corking.
