SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a hair straightener, in particular the so-called "hair iron", with two levers which are made with the ability to rotate relative to each other. The object of the invention is to provide a hair straightener, eliminating the risk of damage to the hair due to the low pressure force. The hair straightener, particularly "hair iron" comprises two levers which are mounted with the ability to rotate relative to each other. At that on each of the two levers a smoothing plate is located, at least one of the plates is made with the ability to heat it. At that for the invention it is essential that at least one smoothing plate is secured elastically by a spring device and that the spring device has a permanent elasticity characteristic in a certain area, so that when using the hair straightener a constant pressure force on the hair is preferably created.

EFFECT: creation of a hair straightener, eliminating the risk of damage to the hair due to the low pressure force.
