FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to materials intended for production turbo machine conformable seals. Invention can be used in machine building, particularly, to turbo machine flow section seals operated at higher temperatures and high-frequency oscillations. Seal element of preset shape and sizes is formed by placing reinforcing element made of metallic mesh to be strained jointly with conformable material powder at compaction. Corrugated metal mesh is used to this end its crimps being oriented across molding direction at placing in the mould. Said mould is filled with conformable material powder to be compacted to stable-shape billet to be sintered in vacuum or protective medium.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
