FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: method involves receiving signals with M≥3 antennae; setting up a "direction-range" coordinate grid in display field with the required boundaries and discrete intervals; calculating paired differences in signal propagation time for each node of the coordinate grid; determining (M2-M)/2 paired cross-correlation functions of signals from antenna outputs; quadratic detection of output signals of each antenna; reading out (M2-M)/2 values of the obtained paired cross-correlation functions and summing their doubled value with results of quadratic detection of signals from each antenna, after which all the obtained sum values are output to the coordinate grid of the display, and coordinates of radiation sources are determined from the position of the maximum the indicator values on scales of the coordinate grid.
EFFECT: providing visual observation of radiation sources on a display screen, location thereof directly in the desired coordinates of the direction-range observation field with determination of coordinates thereof on scales of the display field with maximum noise-immunity, achieved in the given receiving system and limited increase in the amount of processing and computational costs.
