FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves depositing a layer of binder on the first part of a casting mould, placing an energy source on the layer of binder deposited on the first part of the casting mould, wherein the energy source is mounted on a flexible substrate and the flexible substrate is in physical contact with the layer of binder, placing a reaction mixture into the first part of the casting mould and polymerising the reaction mixture to form an ophthalmic lens.
EFFECT: moulding ophthalmic lenses with an electrically powered component to carry out ophthalmic functions.
