DEVICE AND METHOD OF MAKING POWERED OPHTHALMIC DEVICE FOR OPTICAL THERAPY Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC B29D11/00

Abstract RU 2561984 C2

FIELD: physics, optics.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of making a powered biomedical device, particularly a powered ophthalmic lens for optical therapy. The technical result is achieved through a method of moulding an ophthalmic lens, which includes the following steps: placing an energy source which is electrically connected to a light source in the immediate vicinity of the first part of a casting mould; depositing a reactive monomer mixture into the first part of the casting mould; bringing the energy source and the light source into contact with the reactive monomer mixture; placing the first part of the casting mould in the immediate vicinity of the second part of the casting mould to form a lens cavity with the energy source and the light source and at least a certain amount of the reactive mixture inside the lens cavity; exposing the reactive monomer mixture to actinic radiation, wherein the obtained ophthalmic lens includes an annular region around the periphery of the optical zone of the ophthalmic lens, and the energy source and light source are located within said annular zone.

EFFECT: producing an ophthalmic lens for optical therapy.
