FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: image recording element of an image recording device has a pair of autofocusing pixels which carry out the function of dividing the exit pupil and ordinary pixels which do not carry out said function. The pair of autofocusing pixels has a pair of photoelectric converters, the size of which matches the size of photoelectric converters of ordinary pixels. A light blocking area and one microlens are situated over the photoelectric converters. The light blocking area has two light blocking regions which block a light beam passing through the exit pupil. The microlens is situated between the two light blocking regions.
EFFECT: reduced pixel size.
