SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine. A surgical stapling apparatus comprises a fixing device for fastening first and second clamping members together. A cutter can be advanced and/or backed out in relation to the first and second clamping elements. A lock can block or at least prevent the cutter from the movement and at least advancement in relation to the first and second clamping members until the fixing device closes.
EFFECT: fixing device is designed to gear with the lock when the fixing device is moved from an completely open position into a completely close, and to detach from the cutter for the lock operation.
