FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, particularly, to control over locomotive traction motor braking. Locomotive electrodynamic controller is connected with locomotive control system and comprises armature with traction motor winding, traction motor excitation winding connected to traction generator. Traction motor armature winding is connected in series via contactor with brake resistor. Note here that transistor switch is connected in parallel with brake resistor and traction motor armature winding to maintain invariable brake force. Said transistor switch is connected with locomotive control system incorporating the device to control pulse width in compliance with armature winding current setting the duration of transistor switch ON state. Said device comprises damping circuit including diode and extra resistor connected in series. Extra resistor incorporates capacitor connected in parallel therewith.

EFFECT: invariable braking force maintained unless a complete stop of locomotive.
