FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical traction systems of vehicles. Electric transmission of a locomotive contains a thermal engine that rotates a synchronous generator, exciter that, through a controlled rectifier, feeds the excitation winding of the generator, twelve-pulse rectifier, braking resistors, train contactor, six motor blocks, six voltage converters. Inputs of the converters are connected to the rectifier, and the outputs through the contact elements of the train contactor are connected to the inputs of the corresponding motor blocks. Motor block comprises a traction engine with a built-in speed sensor and with series excitation, in which the anchor winding of the traction engine is connected consecutively to the excitation winding through pair-switched contact elements and pair-switched off reverser contact elements. In this case, each voltage converter contains paralleled voltage sensor, braking chopper, capacitor, and a transistor half bridge.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention consists in the ability of the electrodynamic brake to operate before a locomotive stops.
