FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, and is applicable for surgical suturing of tissues. What is used is a surgical stapler having a distal end, a proximal end and a long axis in between; the above proximal end comprises a handle, while the distal end accommodates a lower clamping element comprising a staple cartridge tray and an opposite upper clamping element comprising a thrust plate; the above body comprises a latch coupling the above upper and lower clamping elements together in an intermediate position along the above long axis of the stapler; the above latch is movable in relation of the above upper and lower clamping elements for placing the stapler into various states, including assembly, wherein the above latch is attached to the clamping elements or detached therefrom, and a closed position wherein the above latch is blocked in relation to the clamping elements; the above latch additionally comprises a locking pin which can be inserted into a slot on the above lower clamping element or removed therefrom to attach the above locking element to the clamping elements and to detach therefrom. A start-up assembly is manipulated to supply the above quantity of staples, with the above start-up assembly comprising a longitudinally moveable element for gradual staple ejection towards the thrust plate; the start-up assembly can be easily removed from the body and replaced by another start-up assembly. The start-up assembly is detached from the above body and removed.

EFFECT: method enables reducing surgical material consumption, simplifying and providing more effective processing the apparatus components between the manipulations.
