FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and is used to determine orientation of connection of an electronic calibrator to measurement ports of a vector analyser of circuits during measurements of single-port and two-port devices used in radio electronics, communication, radiolocation. The technical result is achieved due to the fact that the method is based on measurement of two loads that differ most by coefficient of reflection for each measurement port, then they calculate the difference of the reflection coefficients, on the basis of the produced data a decision is made on which port of the EC is connected to the measurement port of the VCA.

EFFECT: automatic detection of electronic calibrator port connection.
