FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical testing of electrical equipment for susceptibility to electromagnetic radiation. The method of testing a motor vehicle engine microprocessor control system for susceptibility to electromagnetic radiation, wherein the control system in the motor vehicle being tested is subjected to pulsed electromagnetic radiation using a lightning discharge generator. The test system is exposed to a given number of non-synchronised electromagnetic radiation pulses, wherein the number of electromagnetic radiation pulses is calculated using a formula.
EFFECT: solution enables more accurate estimation of electromagnetic resistance of the engine control system.
