METHOD FOR SURGICAL MANAGEMENT OF CONGENITAL CATARACT IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61F9/07

Abstract RU 2515432 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: crystalline lens content is removed by aspiration of the crystalline lens mass under a viscoelastic coating. For this purpose, an aspiration cannula made of a transparent material is delicately inserted inside the lens through a tunnel approach and placed within an equator of the crystalline lens as close as possible to an insertion point of the cannula into an anterior chamber; then after turning an aspiration opening of the cannula towards the anterior chamber, the aspiration of the crystalline lens mass is started with a distal end of the cannula projecting sequentially along the equator of the crystalline lens, sliding along a posterior capsule placed from the opposite side from the insertion point of the cannula into the anterior chamber. The circular aspiration assisted with the cannula brought behind a paracentesis is followed by the aspiration of the residual equatorial mass within the the insertion point of the cannula into the anterior chamber. The central crystalline lens mass is aspirated with placing the cannula to the posterior chamber with the aspiration opening facing upwards.

EFFECT: method enables reducing the number of injuries and the length of rehabilitation.
