FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be applied in chemical industry. To obtain titanium dioxide particles in the process of interaction of titanium tetrachloride with oxygen-containing gas in tube reactor to the first stage liquid TiCl4 is supplied into preliminarily heated oxygen-containing gas flow. Gas suspension, which contains first particles of TiO2, is formed. Molar ratio O2:TiCl4 constitutes more than 1. To the second stage gaseous TiCl4 is supplied into gas suspension, which contains first particles of TiO2. To the first stage not more than 20% of the total quantity of TiCl4 are supplied.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to ensure energy-saving and obtain small-sized titanium dioxide particles.
