FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of obtaining hydrogen-rich gas mixture from halogen-containing gas mixture, including hydrogen and at least 50 vol.% of carbon monoxide, counted per dry mass, by interaction of halogen-containing gas mixture with water, which has temperature from 150 to 250°C, to obtain halogen gas mixture poor in halogen and having molar ratio of vapour to carbon monoxide from 0.2:1 to 0.9:1; said poor in halogen gas mixture is subjected to water gas shift reaction, in which part or all carbon monoxide is converted with vapour to hydrogen and carbon dioxide in presence of catalyst, which is present in one fixed bed reactor or in cascade of more than one fixed bed reactor, and in which temperature of gas mixture, supplied into reactor or reactors, equals from 190 to 230°C.
EFFECT: application of claimed method makes it possible to add less vapour.
