FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a supercharger (10) to supply compressed air to a vehicle (12), designed for transportation of passengers and goods. Essence of invention consists in the fact that a compressor contains a head end (14), a clearance space (16) and a valve assembly (18) for connecting the clearance space (16). According to the invention, it is provided that a valve assembly (18) is performed so that air volume supplied by the supercharger could be reduced by connecting the clearance space (16), and the valve assembly (18) contains a valve with at least two-step actuation. The invention also concerns a method to control the supercharger (10) to supply compressed air to the vehicle (12), designed for transportation of passengers and goods, which supercharger contains the head end (14), the clearance space (16) and the valve assembly (18) for connecting the clearance space (16).
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
