FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method to measure viscosity includes pumping of tested medium via a channel of round shape of cross section and determination of medium movement parameters, namely, tangent stress and shift speed of deformation on the channel surface, which are used to determine medium viscosity. At the same time the channel has the closed toroid shape, and pumping of the tested medium happens under action of inertia forces and medium friction, which arose as a result of sharp stop of the toroid rotating around its axis.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of definition of media viscosity with complex rheological properties that depend simultaneously on speed of shift, pressure and temperature in wide range of listed parameters.
