FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the method for measuring moisture content in biological material. For this purpose a reference data base for a variety of different material types with known moisture content is provided. Afterwards a biological material sample such as wooden chips (thin slices) are scanned by electromagnetic radiation at minimum two different energy levels of x-ray radiation. The value of radiation passed through the biological material sample at the two energy levels is determined. The type of material maximally similar to the sample's biological material is identified in the said reference data base. Moisture content of the said biological material sample is determined. A device for measuring moisture content in biological material is proposed as well.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides for the evaluation of moisture content in biological material by automatic procedure.
