FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine. A planar haptic elastic intraocular lens (IOL) is shaped naturally as a lens capsular sac (LCS) in both the frontal and sagittal planes. The IOL has symmetrical oval zones of the minimum haptic elasticity within an expected sagittal lens flexure and having the frontal size of 6 mm horizontally and 2 mm vertically. The above zone has a sagittal convexity 0.9 mm high, i. e. a curvature corresponding to a curvature of a fornix of the human lens capsular sac, and is thinned by 1/3 as compared to a thickness of the whole haptic portion.
EFFECT: using the given invention enables more effective intraocular aphakia correction.
