FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: images of panthograph (100) are captured; multiple springs are combined, and it is considered that a virtually synthesised spring exists in the centre of panthograph (100) in width direction. Partial relative displacement is calculated from images between the position corresponding to upper part of the current receiver in the centre of panthograph (100) in width direction, and a support of the upper part of the current receiver. Elasticity of the virtually synthesised spring is calculated by means of determination of difference between relative displacement and natural length of the virtually synthesised spring. Spring reaction force is determined by multiplying stiffness coefficient of the virtually synthesised spring by elasticity. Action of lifting force on the upper part of the current receiver is determined based on the data of movement speed of a car when images and time are synchronised, and then, spring reaction force, inertia force and lifting force are added to determine contact force.

EFFECT: measurement method of contact force and measurement device of contact force allow measuring contact force of a panthograph using image processing even for panthographs with a design that does not allow for direct photographing of upper part of a current receiver and a spring.
