SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar engineering and can be used for measurement of flight altitude of an aircraft at low and super-low altitudes of its flight. Pulse radar altimeter includes a transmitter, a receiver, a delay metre, a controlled attenuator, a transmitting antenna, a receiving antenna and a monitoring, control and calculation unit of measurement results, which are connected to each other in a certain way.
EFFECT: simplifying radar altimeter design, improving its reliability and interference immunity and enlarging the range of measured altitudes.
