FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: set of inventions relates to determination of one or more gearshift points. Proposed method consists in definition of gearshift points proceeding from the road slope variation. The number of up shift or downshift stages depends on road slope variation. Said variation is defined as the derivative of road slope at a given moment in direction of vehicle motion. Gearshift point is defined by engine rpm whereat gearbox throws in low or high gear. One up shift or downshift comprises several up shift or downshift stages. Application of one or more aforesaid points consists in defining said one or more gearshift points in compliance with above described procedure. Proposed system comprises control unit to exercise control over gearbox. This system operates in compliance with aforesaid procedure. Carrier, say, truck or autobus can incorporate above described system.
EFFECT: decreased fuel consumption, better running characteristics.
