SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mobile communication and particularly to call handover and processing technology. An add endpoint request message is sent to a media gateway (MGW), wherein the add endpoint request message carries endpoint information about a time division multiple (TDM) type and codec information that corresponds to the TDM type, and endpoint information about an Internet Protocol (IP) type and codec information that corresponds to the IP type. Upon receiving an add endpoint reply message indicating that the MGW successfully established a TDM endpoint and an IP endpoint, a handover request message carrying a channel identifier code (CIC) information element and the endpoint information about an IP type is sent to a target base station controller (BSC), and a handover request acknowledge message carrying the endpoint information about a TDM type or the endpoint information about an IP type returned by the target BSC is received.

EFFECT: preventing call failure caused by the different between TDM endpoints individually assigned by the target BSC and a core network (CN).
