FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: this invention relates to a method for quantitative determination of content of waxes and wax-like substances in refined vegetable oils, at which a hot vegetable oil sample is arranged in a vessel; the sample is irradiated and at the same time, its temperature is changed; the sample is cooled from initial temperature to the temperature of complete sample hardening; the following light flows are measured continuously: a flow passing through the sample and a scattered flow; the ratio of the passing and scattered light flows is determined depending on temperature, and quantitative content of waxes and wax-like substances in vegetable oil is determined by maximum of this ratio based on a calibration curve obtained on reference samples. The device includes a housing with a thermoelectric module in the form of a cooling-and-heating device, the control input of which is connected to the output of the control-and-recording device, a thermally insulated vessel installed in the housing with possibility of thermal contact of the vessel bottom to the cooling-and-heating device and equipped with temperature sensors connected to the control-and-recording device; the first, the second and the third fibre-optical waveguides are mounted into walls of the vessel, out of which the first waveguide is connected to an emitter, and the second and the third ones are connected to photoreceivers; optical axes of waveguides are on the same level and in the same cross section of the vessel; with that, optical axes of end faces of the first and the second waveguides coincide, and the optical axes of the end face of the third waveguide is located normally to the optical axes of the first and the second waveguides; outputs of temperature sensors and proportional photoreceivers are connected to the control-and-recording device.
EFFECT: invention provides an efficient and informative express method allowing to considerably reduce the test time and excluding subjective errors of an operator.
