FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: diamond detector has a nuclear radiation-sensitive element in form of a diamond plate with contacts placed opposite each other on two planes of the diamond plate, having a large area, current leads connected to corresponding contacts on the diamond plate by wires, and a housing, wherein the diamond detector further includes a mandrel made of high-temperature insulating material, e.g. sapphire with an opening, whose dimensions match those of the diamond plate, and a spring; the current leads are in form of flat springs; the wires are connected to the contacts on the diamond plate and current leads by welding, e.g. ultrasonic microwelding, and the housing is compatible with a triaxial communication line.
EFFECT: wider field of use and high reliability.
