FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to receivers-converters of images of objects and can be used in obtaining images of objects in thermal neutron flows. Vacuum emission receiver-converter of images of objects is a combination of a vacuum housing of an input window, a microchannel plate and a cathode-luminescent screen. Inlet window is made from material which is transparent for thermal neutron flows, and the microchannel plate is made from a polycrystalline diamond film doped with boron. Between the microchannel plate and the inlet window there is a converter of thermal neutrons into flows of high-energy microparticles, made of a polycrystalline diamond film, doped with boron and containing isotope 10B, made in the form of a grid with a period close to the diffusion length of electrons in a polycrystalline diamond film.
EFFECT: possibility of realizing the function of non-destructive detection and recognition of images of objects in thermal neutron flows.
