FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: melanin is precipitated from a water extract of chaga by addition of a water solution of hydrochloric acid, then melanin is extracted by petroleum-ether with mixing until a mixture with a homogenous consistence is obtained, the obtained mixture is frozen, and after defrosting an organic extract layer is separated, a solvent is removed with obtaining a dry residue of a fraction of lipophilic substances.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to extract the fraction of lipophilic substances, which include sterol compounds, possessing an expressed biological activity, from chaga.
