FIELD: melanin production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing melanin from the Dark beetle Chernotelka steppe by washing and drying the beetles, grinding them to a powdery state, followed by melanin extraction, characterized in that the cuticle of the steppe Dark beetle Chernotelka (Anatolica aucta) is used, which, after drying, is crushed to a particle size of 1 to 8 mm, 3-fold extraction of the obtained powder with distilled water is carried out when heated at 90°C and stirring for 3 hours, a 25% solution of hydrochloric acid is added to the obtained aqueous extract until the pH changes to 1.0-2.0, the resulting mixture is stirred and left for 24 h, the precipitated dark brown precipitate of melanin was filtered off and dried, then poured with 60% ethanol solution, the resulting mixture was allowed to stand for 4 h, the supernatant was drained, the resulting dark brown precipitate was dried at a temperature of 50°C.
EFFECT: improvement of the method for producing melanin.
