FIELD: woodworking industry.
SUBSTANCE: timber is located between the electrodes-heat exchangers in the vacuum chamber, the timber is preheated by the thermal energy from the electrodes-heat exchangers in vacuum, and then alternating radio-frequency voltage is applied to the electrodes-heat exchangers, the temperature is measured inside and on the surface of the timber and maintained in a predetermined range by changing the electric power supplied to the interelectrode gap, and heating the electrodes-heat exchangers. The resulting vapours are removed by condensation. In the drying process the frequency of influencing voltage is changed depending on the moisture of the timber, which facilitates more efficient transfer of energy to the volume of the semiproduct regardless of the timber moisture.
EFFECT: method of drying enables to improve the quality of dried timber and accelerate the process.
