FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: piece of the skin of the anterior thoracic wall of approximately 0.5 cm2 is sharply pre-sampled. A preparation is prepared by techniques enabling to determine elastic fibres and collagen fibres, e.g. by Weigert - Van Gieson technique, and if the skin of the anterior thoracic wall is found to show signs of connective tissue injuries - connective tissue dysplasia - the prosthetic repair of the dilated ascending aorta is considered to be indicated.
EFFECT: method enables determining indications for the prosthetic repair of the dilated ascending aorta in the preoperative period, improving the remote open-heart operation results, avoiding recurrent surgical interventions required for the prosthetic repair of postoperative ascending aortic aneurism, and reducing the remote postoperative mortality caused by such complications, as the aortic dissection and ascending aortic disruption.
