FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a coating composition for metal devices, which provides protection from corrosion, a protective film obtained from said coating composition and use of said coating composition. The coating composition contains ceramic particles which contain at least one corrosion inhibitor, substantially uniformly distributed in each particle. Said corrosion inhibitor is released in the presence of a liquid as a result of solubilisation in said liquid. The coating composition is also characterised by that the ceramic particles are obtained using a sol-gel method to encapsulate the corrosion inhibitor. Said sol-gel method is based on hydrolysis and condensation of corresponding precursors.
EFFECT: controlled release of corrosion inhibitors using ceramic particles for encapsulation thereof, including said particles in a coating composition for coating metal surfaces.
