FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: perineal injuries are repaired in obstetric patients. The uterine cervical edges are turned under to cover the external orifice of the uterus completely. Torn vaginal and hymen edges are localised. Using an autraumatic needle one interrupted suture is applied with Vicryl rapid suture within the hymen superficially under the wound bottom. The wound edges of the vaginal wall and the hymen are matched together. The perineal muscular edges are matched together with separate sutures. The superficial fascia of the perineum is closed with separate sutures. A cosmetic subcuticular suture is applied on the skin wound edges.

EFFECT: method provides the suture consistency and a reliable vaginal and perineal wound repair; high functional and aesthetic therapeutic effect in females suffered from a perineal injury from childbirth.
