FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: vitreotome contains an external tube, closed from the butt end, provided with a lateral aspiration-resection window and immovably fixed to a handle, and an internal movable knife. The knife is connected to a drive, controlled by the apparatus pedal control black and is made with a possibility of both single and multiple movements and three knife positions relative to the aspiration-resection window: complete opening of the window for carrying out aspiration, partial closing of the window for capturing and holding tissue and complete closing of the window for cutting the captured tissue. An external tube is connected by means of the handle to a hose of the apparatus aspiration system and performs the function of an aspirator. The distal butt end of the tube is perpendicularly cut and closed with a plug of an electrically insulating material. The knife moves longitudinally reciprocally. As the knife drive used are collector and collector-free microelectromotors or servomotors, provided with controllers of the roller movements.
EFFECT: high-speed removal of pathological structures of the retina and vitreous body with reduction of trauma.
