FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmosurgery and can be used for the nucleus of lens destruction inside the capsular sac in ultrasonic phacoemulsification. A circular groove is formed on a peripheral portion of the crystalline lens within an interface of the lens nucleus and epinuscleus thereby reducing a size of a dense portion of the nucleus; the above groove is used for mechanical fragmentation of the nucleus.
EFFECT: method enables facilitating the lens split, reducing an injury of the intraocular structures.
